Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies: A Classic Favorite

Peanut butter blossom cookies are a delightful treat that combine the rich flavor of peanut butter with the sweetness of a chocolate kiss. These soft, chewy cookies are perfect for any occasion, from holiday baking to a sweet afternoon snack. Here's a simple recipe to make these irresistible cookies!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup additional sugar (for rolling)
  • 24 milk chocolate kisses (or any chocolate of your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, softened butter, and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.

  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.

  4. Shape the Cookies:
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and then roll each ball in the 1/2 cup of sugar to coat. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

  5. Bake the Cookies:
Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still look soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

  6. Add the Chocolate Kiss:
As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, gently press a milk chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For an extra peanut buttery flavor, try adding some chopped peanuts on top before baking.
  • If you're making these for the holidays, use colored foil-wrapped kisses to match the season!
  • If you prefer a chewier texture, take the cookies out a minute earlier—just be careful not to underbake them.

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies are the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and their simple charm makes them a go-to cookie for almost any occasion. They’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser, whether you're sharing them at a party or enjoying them with a glass of milk. Happy baking! 🍪
